From 8 to 15 October, the Week of Vision will take place under the motto “See Clearly”. Under this title, the Week of Vision is once again offering a variety of exciting activities and materials on the topic of blindness and visual impairment. The aim of the action week is to help ensure that as many people as possible around the world have the same opportunities to achieve the goal of clear vision.
Action guide for Vision Week
A comprehensive action guide with lots of practical tips and creative ideas for your own event during Sight Week is now available. The guide provides information about the campaign in general, this year’s motto and the focus of the three campaign areas. By taking part in Sight Week, you are helping to promote understanding of the challenges and needs of people with visual impairments and improve their quality of life. Use the action guide to plan and hold your event successfully.
Here are some ideas on how you can get involved:
- Organize a lecture in your clinic. For example, show one of the films that the Week of Vision provides.
- Invite your guests to an inclusive city tour to open up new perspectives.
- Create an exchange between people with and without visual impairments.
- As a teacher, use the learning game “Around the Eye” in your class.
- Display information material in your practice or institution.
