The Paul Martini Foundation is announcing the Paul Martini Young Investigator Award for Clinical Research in Germany for the first time in 2024.
The prize honors up to three scientists under the age of 35 for outstanding achievements and projects in the field of clinical research and clinical pharmacology. The award is endowed with EUR 6,000 each. Family time and comparable special circumstances can be taken into account when determining the age limit upon request.
Measurable successes (including publications), the innovative character, e.g. in recruitment strategies for study participants, in the area of evaluation methods, as well as the overcoming of bureaucratic obstacles, the coordination of (inter)national investigator groups or even examples of cooperation up to training concepts outside established formats are evaluated. The selection therefore takes into account objective results that help to advance the success of clinical research in Germany and possibly even secure it in the long term.
Deadline for submission is 15 September 2024.
A three-person jury chaired by Prof. Dr. Stefan Endres, Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, will select up to three prize winners. The Paul Martini Young Talents Prize for Clinical Research will be awarded at the Paul Martini Foundation’s annual autumn symposium on November 30 in Berlin.
The Young Talent Award is established in memory of the well-known scientist and physician Professor Paul Martini (Bonn), in recognition of his special services to the promotion and further development of clinical-therapeutic research, which he significantly influenced over decades with his ‘Methodology of Therapeutic Investigation’, published as early as 1932.
The projects to be submitted should present objective results or successes (in abstract format; background – methods – results – discussion – summary; max. 500 words). In the case of (up to three) submitted publications, these should have been published or accepted for publication in the current or last two years by the first or last author.
The following documents must be enclosed with the application letter (with title of the project or work and address):
- Abstract and any related publications and documents
