Berlin – Following the recent state elections in Thuringia and Saxony, the industry association Pharma Germany is alarmed by the clear shift to the right in both federal states.

“The pharmaceutical industry thrives on global networking, cultural diversity and an open, free market. The increasing influence of right-wing forces in Thuringia and Saxony is calling these cornerstones of our economic success into question,” said Dorothee Brakmann, CEO of Pharma Deutschland, today.

The association emphasizes that a negative attitude towards internationality and diversity not only strains the social climate, but also calls into question the economic future of entire regions.

“Investors and skilled workers will think twice about investing in an environment that is characterized by international exclusion and isolation,” Brakmann continued. The governments of both countries need to send a clear signal in favor of the location. © EB/aha/aerzteblatt.de
