Berlin The delegates to the 128th German Medical Association are calling on the state medical associations to generally recognize part-time further training of at least 50 percent in the future, without this requiring separate approval. This motion was approved with a large majority: 199 votes for, 16 against.
This is intended to strengthen the compatibility of family and work. In addition, there is the further differentiation of work and life models, which also leads to a higher level of part-time work, the application continues.
Separate approval of part-time work in individual training sections should therefore no longer be necessary, as these are no longer up-to-date.
Since in some chambers it is possible to complete sections part-time without special approval, there are difficulties, especially when changing chambers during further training, said Sebastian Exner from North Rhine.
However, an application for further details regarding the recognition of periods of part-time further training was referred to the board. These should be introduced in the further process of revising the (model) further training regulations.
The 128th German Medical Association in Mainz has been dealing with the topic of further training since yesterday and has already decided in principle that the educational system in the model further training regulations must be sharpened and streamlined.
A comprehensive concept is to be presented for the upcoming 129th German Doctors’ Day in Leipzig. Further decisions on individual additional training courses as well as the discussion on financing further training will then be made in Mainz tomorrow. © bee/aerzteblatt.de
