Berlin The Federal Joint Committee (G-BA) has relaxed the rules for the establishment of outpatient specialist medical care teams (ASV).

Unlike before, specialists who are only called into the ASV team when necessary no longer have to be located within a maximum of 30 minutes’ drive of the core team. In future, they may also be located further away.

The removal of this 30-minute rule is intended to make it easier to set up ASV teams, especially in rural areas. The G-BA suspects that the rule may have influenced the formation of ASV teams in some rural areas, especially when rare subspecializations were included.

With the resolution that has now come into force, the G-BA has made a number of other editorial clarifications and changes. These include, for example, a lower doctor-related minimum quantity in the oncology facilities. These were adjusted in accordance with the oncology agreement.

In addition, the specialist groups of general surgery or visceral surgery can now work as team leaders in the ASV Bone and Soft Tissue Tumors. © hil/aerzteblatt.de
