Berlin More than a hundred outpatient procedures in the area of skin transplants will be reimbursed higher from January. The basis for this is the revision of the uniform assessment standard (EBM) by the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KBV) and the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Funds.

In the evaluation committee, you have adjusted the content of the area of skin transplants and upgraded the time categories assigned to such procedures in Appendix 2 to the EBM.

The code areas for free skin transplants and for free skin transplants for burns and chemical burns were systematized in the categorization of the operation time and missing localizations were added.

According to the KBV, 109 codes received a higher surgical time category from the evaluation committee. As a result, dermatologists will be able to bill a higher-rated fee schedule item (GOP) in the EBM for these procedures from January onwards. This also applies to anesthesiologists. Four codes were assigned lower surgical time categories. © hil/sb/aerzteblatt.de
