Mainz The 130th German Doctors’ Day will take place in Hanover in 2026 from May 12th to 15th. That’s what the representatives of this year’s German Doctors’ Day in Mainz decided today. In doing so, they confirmed a decision by the board of the Federal Medical Association (BK) from January 2024.
Hanover is in the middle of Germany, in the heart of Germany and Lower Saxony, said Lower Saxony’s Medical Chamber President Martina Wenker. It would be a great pleasure for her if the delegates came to Hanover in two years.
Lower Saxony had previously presented itself as a diverse federal state in an application film. In addition to cutting-edge research and university medicine, Lower Saxony, as an area, is also technically innovative, for example with telemedicine in the emergency services to ensure health care even over long distances. In rural areas, home visits on horseback during daily rides are also a way of looking after the people in the rural areas.
It is the fifth time that the Lower Saxony Medical Association (KN) is organizing the German Doctors’ Day. Hanover was already the venue in 1949 (52nd German Doctors’ Day), 1969 (72nd German Doctors’ Day), 1986 (89th German Doctors’ Day) and 2013 (116th German Doctors’ Day). © may/aerzteblatt.de
