Berlin – Gematik is getting a new management team. Today the shareholders’ meeting accepted the personnel proposal of the Federal Ministry of Health (BMG). Florian Fuhrmann, Brenya Adjei and Florian Hartge will take up their new positions on September 1st for five years – Fuhrmann will be the new managing director. As Gematik further announced, Hartge will remain interim managing director until then.
The three managing directors share the work areas: Fuhrmann, as chairman of the management board, is responsible for the areas of strategy and standards, law and finance. Brenya Adjei is responsible for the areas of human resources, IT and communication. Florian Hartge is in charge of the areas of production, security and operations.
“Digital transformation is the key to patient-centered care and to many structural challenges in our healthcare system. The new digital agency will work closely with payers, service providers and industry to take the existing telematics infrastructure and the digital ecosystem to a new level,” said Fuhrmann.
Sibylle Steiner, member of the board of the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KBV), commented on the new management of Gematik, which was approved by the shareholders’ meeting: “With Dr. Florian Fuhrmann, an experienced expert in statutory health insurance is taking over the leadership of the new digital agency. This is very gratifying.”
According to Steiner, this is linked to the expectation that the interests of the established colleagues will be more strongly incorporated into the previously very technical work of the ‘old’ Gematik. © EB/aha/aerzteblatt.de
