- Specialist in ophthalmology
- Knowledge and application of common corneal diagnostic procedures at the level of the current EBO syllabus. In addition, a passed EBO exam is desirable.

The decisive factors for the surgical cornea fellowship are the clear indication, the technical implementation and the adequate aftercare of all common corneal operations. This also includes basic immunological knowledge in the context of high-risk keratoplasty.

Absolutely necessary:
- Endothelial cell measuring device
- Scheimpflug tomography
- Emergency service 24/7
Optionally:
- Device for biomechanical evaluation of keratoconus
- Confocal microscope for in-vivo evaluation of complicated infectious keratides
- Anterior segment OCT
