Silver Spring/Maryland – The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved a T-cell therapy for the first time to treat solid carcinoma. Patients with the rare synovial sarcoma can be treated with afamitresgene autoleucel (afami-cel) if they have certain HLA characteristics and the cancer cells produce the MAGE-A4 antigen, for the detection of which a special test has been approved.
