Berlin At its meeting tomorrow, the Federal Cabinet has four laws from the Federal Ministry of Health (BMG) on the agenda in addition to the long-discussed decision on the budget for 2025.
According to government sources, these will include the Emergency Act, the Act on Living Organ Donation and the Health Digital Agency Act. Also on the agenda is the Act to Strengthen Public Health, which will establish the Federal Institute for Prevention and Education in Medicine (BIPAM).
The Federal Center for Health Education (BZgA) and parts of the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) are to be combined under this name. As provided for in the draft bill, the role of the appointment service centers (TSS) is to be strengthened in the emergency law.
It was heard from Bundestag circles that a reform of the emergency services is to be introduced into this law via amendments from parliament. Plans for this will be presented in Berlin next Thursday.
During the course of today it was not yet clear whether the pharmacy reform law, which pharmacists are currently protesting against, would be the fifth law from the Federal Ministry of Health on the agenda for the cabinet meeting. Government circles said that this still had to be examined by the Federal Ministry of Justice.
The next cabinet meeting is not scheduled until August 21. According to the provisional agenda, which was submitted to the German Medical Journal The Federal Government also plans to publish its responses to the demands of the federal states regarding the Hospital Care Act (KHVVG) and the Health Care Strengthening Act (GVSG) at the meeting.
Several demands from the Federal Council meeting at the beginning of July were brought to the government’s attention. Among them was the demand to reinstate the topics of health kiosks, primary care centers and health regions in the GVSG.
However, discussions on the five laws in the Bundestag cannot begin until the end of September at the earliest: Traditionally, the first parliamentary week in September (from September 9) is the budget week, in which MPs first debate the budget for 2025.
In the following parliamentary week (from 23 September) the KHVVG is already planned as a public hearing in the Health Committee. © bee/aerzteblatt.de
